Las Vegas Rum Runner 9 Ball Tournament:

Every year 64 of the best players from across the United States play at the annual Andy Mercer Memorial pool tournament at the Rum Runner Las Vegas on Tropicana. The tournament is held in March and is usually the weekend after the Doc Hill Memorial.

The tournament is hosted by owner Geno Hill and every year the board seems to fill faster and faster. Touring pros like Shane Van Boening and Darren Appleton are often viewed as just another match as they compete against some of the best "Bar Box" players in the United States. This year first prize was $6,000 and that didn't include the Calcutta.
